Before any facial treatment is carried out at the Sanctuary Skin Spa, you will have a consultation with one of our therapists, who will conduct a skin analysis using the VISIA® Skin Camera.

What is the VISIA® Skin Imaging Camera?

VISIA® is a complexion analysis system that identifies the condition of your skin and enables us to design a unique skin care regime just for you. In particular, it is used to plan more effective and personalised rejuvenation treatments to improve the evenness of facial skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles or sun damage. During your initial consultation, your therapist will briefly cleanse your face before using the VISIA® Skin Imaging Camera to capture images 2mm beneath the skin’s surface showing blood, melanin, sun damage, wrinkles and collagen levels.

How VISIA® complexion analysis works

Providing precise imaging of all areas of the face, including beneath the surface, VISIA® is a computerised photo skin analysis and can offer meaningful evaluations and reports to help you every step of the way in taking care of your skin and enjoying long lasting results.

The VISIA® Skin Camera takes photos using a special camera from 3 different angles and sends detailed images to a computer which uses unique software to analyse the results in both standard and UV light. These photos can then be shown to you on a computer and you will see your individual complexion as compared to the average, from an in-built database composed of thousands of other faces. Our highly skilled therapists will then interpret the findings for you, identifying the key areas of your face that would benefit from treatment.

The results of your VISIA® Skin Analysis will be complied into a report for you to keep. These results will then be used to agree which treatment is best suited to your skin type and will help to determine your personalised skin care routine.

Can everyone benefit from VISIA® complexion analysis?

VISIA® Skin Analysis can be performed on anyone, with any skin type or skin colour. However, if you suffer from epilepsy or are affected by strobe lighting, we advise that you do not have the procedure.

How much does VISIA® skin analysis cost at Skin Spa?

Our VISIA® Skin Analysis service is complimentary when booked with any Skin Spa treatment or when spending £25 or more on home care products. A complimentary skin consultation is also offered at the start and finish of every course booked. There is a £25 fee for the camera when Skin Analysis is booked on its own.

This information will be used as a basis for understanding on how hair technology could ‘read’ the hair and scalp for our in-salon experiment.
